‘The Quest of Buachaill Buí’ is theatre for young and old alike, using puppetry music and song we follow one special boy as he goes on a journey trying to find his best friend. As he goes he hears all sorts of stories, opinions, and ideas, and he believes them all!

With puppetry, physicality, and music, we explore the world that is created around this boy based on the stories he chooses to believe in. What would the world be like if we believed in the tall tales; the tales of the fae, or creatures of the night? After all, everything is essentially a story, but which ones do we and/ or should we believe?

Recommended age range of 8 and up. For parents discretion however, you know your kids better than we do (and we know a few 6 year olds who are mad keen to come).

Candlelit Tales was very excited to explore this new piece of work in Smock Alley’s Scene and Heard Festival 2018. We recently performed in Fota Wildlie Park in Cork over the Easter break, and we are excited to bring new chapters of Buichaill Bui’s adventures around Ireland later in the year.
