The Harvest season is here and we will tell an old story to reflect the season: An old hero, met an mystical woman at the end of Summer…

About this event

We are in the Harvest season. Everything that was sewn is producing its fruits and those that tended to them are reaping their rewards. It is a season of reflection as well. We are between Lughnasa and Samhain, and there is still heat in the last of the summer sun, but the cool winter winds are beginning to blow.

So slow down, and gather in. Let us tell you the beginning, the middle and not quite the end of the Fianna. The heroes were led by Fionn Mc Cumhaill. The men and women who saw the great man at his best, and at his worst. In his light, and the dark side.

As we prepare ourselves for the onset of the dark half of the year, let us gather together and reflect on one of the heroes who needed a great woman to remind him of the stories of the Fianna. The male and the feminine come together in the best possible way. Caoilte was brought home for a harvest he had not known about. He met an extraordinary woman, who reminded him of who he was, and what he was capable of doing.

Let us tell you these stories and more this September.

Candlelit Tales tell Irish myth with a musical twist. Inspired by the old oral tradition, we are breathing life back into these old tales today.
